I first came upon Radical Face though his eleven track The Family Tree: The Bastards, a series of songs that never found their way to formal albums, where he focuses on muted emotional indie folk. If you too came at Ghost in the same fashion then this release might just be a bit disappointing to you though I am in no way saying that it’s.

- Ghost was the first official studio album, released by Radical Face in March 2007. On November 16, 2010, Cooper released a six-track EP titled Touch The Sky, which served as an appetizer for an announced trilogy of albums called Family Tree, which follows the tale of a fictional family, the Northcotes, through its generations.

Jacksonville Beach, Florida-based Radical Face is primarily Ben Cooper, who is also one-half of similar quiet-is-the-new-loud duo Electric President. Both have inked deals with German label Morr Music. Highlighted with light orchestral flourishes and acoustic guitar, Radical Face's early recordings included an EP and an album titled The Junkyard Chandelier. In March 2007, Morr issued Ghost, a concept album about houses retaining memories.
In 2011, The Family Tree Presents: The Roots began a series of Radical Face albums based around a fictional family that spanned the 1800s to the present, a story that continued on the 2013 release The Family Tree: The Branches. A collection of unused songs from the Family Tree recordings called The Bastards appeared two years later, and in 2016 the epic concluded with The Family Tree: The Leaves. The latter became his highest-charting release to date, hitting the Top Heatseekers, Top Independent Albums, and Top Rock Albums charts. ~ Kenyon Hopkin
